Sam Thomas
Knowledge and Library Services Manager
I am responsible for leading the Knowledge and Library Services team at UHD.
I have a clinical healthcare background, having trained and worked as an Orthoptist in the NHS prior to moving into a career in librarianship in 2017. I have a professional interest in Artificial Intelligence and related technologies in Libraries.
I enjoy drumming, craft beer and supporting Weymouth FC.

Barb Peirce
Knowledge and Library Systems Specialist
I provide help for the Specialties Care Group for UHD –Child Health, Women’s Health, Cancer Care, Clinical Support and Pathology, assisting with evidence-based decision making, information literacy instruction and study skills.
I am also one of the leads for the Library Management System for the region.
I enjoy helping on Brownsea Island, baking and walking, I dislike coriander and tea.

Liz Wright
Outreach Librarian and Knowledge Specialist
My role includes carrying out information searches to help with evidence-based practice, policy making and QI projects. I also facilitate Journal clubs, organise randomised coffee trials and train colleagues on critical appraisal, study skills, health literacy and how to find papers. As well as this I look after the day to day running of the library at RBH.
I like cheese, pizza and wine, running (because of all the cheese, pizza and wine!), cows and holidays. I dislike tea, coffee and bad manners.

Richard Daly
Clinical Librarian and Knowledge Specialist
I help to deliver a highly visible, dynamic knowledge service to all clinical and non-clinical staff. I undertake literature searches, prepare current awareness, and provide training, as well as promoting the services we offer and developing innovative new ones. I am an expert in the dark arts of cataloguing.
I like running half-marathons, getting out in nature, coffee drinking, ice hockey (Vancouver Canucks), and my stocks & shares ISA. I dislike cats, dogs & dog walkers, email, BBC's The One Show, and people who don't indicate when driving.

Lisa Stooks
Outreach Librarian
My role involves conducting Information searches for evidence-based practice, facilitating journal clubs, assisting with study skills and health literacy training and promoting our library services to our colleagues across the Trust.
I like holidays, music, food and spending time with family. I dislike frogs and being under water.

Ella Moore
Outreach Librarian
My role includes conducting literature searches to support evidence-based practise across the trust, delivering academic and research skills training, compiling current awareness bulletins to help staff stay abreast of new research, facilitating journal clubs in different UHD departments and promoting library services to all staff at UHD. In my spare time, I love a good day trip, reading books, playing netball and playing clarinet in concert band. I dislike my phone, the news, basketball and the rustling sound made by anoraks.
Maya Atkinson
Library Techncian Apprentice
I support the daily operations of the library, helping students and staff make the most of our research tools and digital platforms. Alongside my role, I’m undertaking a Library Technician apprenticeship, which enhances my skills and enables me to offer more informed and effective support to our library users. My interests include cyberpsychology, AI systems, and the evolving influence of technology on language and communication. Outside of work, I enjoy horror movies, crochet, and making playlists. I do not enjoy baked beans, supermarkets, or waiting for buses (especially in the rain).
Alice Cruickshank
Library Techncian Apprentice
My role involves supporting the day-to-day operations of the library and helping to provide a positive experience for users. I am currently completing a Library Technician Apprenticeship, which is helping me to develop my knowledge and skills to further enhance library services and user support.
I like drinking tea, spending time with my friends, watching soap operas, and listening to Harry Styles. I dislike rodents and pesto pasta.
Flora Holt
Knowledge and Evidence Support TechnicianMy role is to help with the daily running of the library; amongst other duties, I ensure that the library is a welcoming space for staff and students to study, relax and meet. I have just completed my LIAS Assistant level 3 apprenticeship. I like cooking, eating, learning foreign languages (badly) and heavy metal.
